Alabama Volleyball Falls in Four-Set Battle Wednesday at South Carolina


COLUMBIA, S.C. – For the second straight match, Alabama pushed its opponent to four sets after losing the first two but the Crimson Tide ultimately fell just short Wednesday night on the road, falling to South Carolina by set scores of 21-25, 17-25, 25-14 and 19-25.

Alabama (10-9, 0-8 SEC) fell in sets one and two to South Carolina (8-9, 2-6 SEC) before rallying for a double-digit win in the third to extend the match. The Tide couldn’t push it to a fifth however, dropping a six-point decision in the fourth to end the match.

Both Kendyl Reaugh and Alyiah Wells tallied their 900th career kills in the match, including a career-best 22 from Reaugh. She now owns 912 for her career while Wells sits at 901. Gabbi LeBlanc made her first SEC start, earning 33 assists, while Jordyn Towns saw her first league action of the season.
