Arizona Swept by Golden Bears

TUCSON, Ariz. – The Wildcats lost to California in three sets (20-25, 19-25, 14-25) on Sunday in McKale Center.
 
Arizona was led by Jordan Wilson with 11 kills and Sofia Maldonado Diaz with eight kills. Three Wildcats – Ana Heath, Jaelyn Hodge, and Kenzie Schoenhardt – served one ace each.
 
The first set went to Cal, 25-20. Hodge served an ace to begin the set, but Cal took an early lead that Arizona couldn’t catch. Maldonado Diaz had four kills while Wilson hit .500 on six swings.
 
Arizona fell behind 2-0 after losing the second set, 19-25. Wilson tallied six kills and a .364 clip but Cal held Arizona to a .250 team hitting percentage. Maldonado Diaz had three kills and Alayna Johnson recorded two kills in the set.
 
The Wildcats lost Set 3, 25-14. Cal had four blocks to hold Arizona to a -.100 hitting percentage in the set. Johnson and Wilson each had two kills.  
 
The Wildcats will travel to USC on Friday, November 3 at 7 p.m. MST before heading to UCLA on Sunday, November 5 at 1 p.m. MST.
