AVC FINANCE COMMITTEE KEEPS MEMBERS FOCUSSED ON FINANCIAL AFFAIRS AND BUDGETING PRACTICES

Bangkok, Thailand, February 4, 2024 – The AVC Finance Committee held a hybrid meeting at Golden Tulip Sovereign Hotel Bangkok on Sunday to get updated on financial situations, acknowledge financial support and discuss expenditure budget.

Mr Cai Yi from China, himself AVC Senior Executive Vice President, Executive Zonal Vice President representing Eastern Zone, AVC Treasurer and Member of AVC Sports Events Council, chaired the Sunday’s meeting, attended on site by Mrs Shek Tsui Wai Fun, Marina from Hong Kong, China (Secretary) and Mr Kylychbek Sarbghyshev from Kyrgyzstan. Mr Mahdi Eslami from Iran and Terry Sasser from Marshall Islands joined on Zoom.

Also in attendance were Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, AVC Honorary Life Vice President and Executive Director, AVC Secretary General Mr Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai, AVC Secretariat Director Ms Phenyada Fuengthanthip and Finance Director Mrs Goolgunya Sittiyanonkorn.

AVC President Mrs Rita Subowo from Indonesia delivered a welcome speech to all participants and thanked the Committee Members for their hard work and good financial management which helped control and monitor AVC’s financial resources in order to fulfill the Asia’s volleyball-governing body’s commitments and financial objectives.

   

“I just had a meeting, a good meeting, with FIVB and all kinds of information, especially for financial conditions in FIVB is very good and that convinces us that there will be a full support and at least, more and more National Federations in Asia can be supported by FIVB through development projects. However, we have to educate and teach our National Federations how to submit it, what’s kind of projects,” said Mrs Subowo.

“I asked Mr Hitech Malhotra (from FIVB Technical and Development Department) here technically because some of projects will go to Olympic Solidarity to provide us forms. So, we National Federations and our members just fill the forms for IOC in order not to make confused with the projects. We have to circulate to National Federations and educate them how to fill the forms because the Olympic Solidarity Fund is there. However, you have to do the right things to make IOC avoid from any confusion with the support,” added the AVC President.
