AVC RELEASES 2023 COMPETITION CALENDAR

Bangkok, Thailand, December 20, 2022 – A fully-packed volleyball schedule awaits adoring fans as AVC has recently unveiled its 2023 Competition Calendar which outlines the AVC’s upcoming volleyball events for the next Olympic cycle leading up to the Olympic Games Paris 2024.

The 2023 Competition Calendar, based on the principles set out initially by the AVC Sports Events Council and approved by the AVC Board of Administration, outlines all volleyball competitions to be held by the governing body including the continent’s top-tier Asian Senior Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Championships.

2023 will be one of the extremely busy years for Asian volleyball family. Apart from eight championships to be actively organised by AVC, volleyball competitions in multi-sport events such as the SEA Games and the Asian Games as well as action-packed Volleyball Nations League and eagerly-anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification Tournaments will also be held in both men’s and women’s events, allowing volleyball fans to enjoy watching live matches on connected devices, experience the thrilling sport and see some of their favourite players in action on site.

According to the recently-launched AVC Competition Calendar, eight championships will be organised by AVC in 2023. The governing body has already sent all AVC Affiliated National Federations the invitation to participate in 2023 AVC Championships. Attached to the invitation are Regulations of AVC Championships, National Entry Forms, 2023 AVC Competition Calendar, 2023 Timeline and AVC Uniform Publicity.

However, the National League Season in some countries has been adapted to their National Team competition schedules per gender, resulting in AVC’s decision to change the competition schedules of three AVC events and the release of the revised 2023 AVC Competition Calendar.

   

Vinh Phuc, a mountainous province northwest of Hanoi in Vietnam, will host the first AVC Championship in 2023. Initially, Vinh Phuc had been set to host the 2023 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship from April 16 to 23, but the actual competition dates were later extended to April 25-May 2 instead.

It will be the third time of Vinh Phuc to host the Asian Women’s Club Championship and the Vietnam’s 7th to stage this thrilling competition.
