UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. – After forcing the match to five sets, the third-ranked Wisconsin volleyball team secured a 25-19, 22-25, 25-23, 18-25, 15-12 win over No. 14 Penn State on Saturday night.
Junior Devyn Robinson and graduate student Danielle Hart combined for 30 of UW’s 58 kills in the match. Robinson led the team with 17 kills followed by Hart with 13.
The Badgers (23-3, 17-1 BIG) extended their 16-match win streak with a hitting percentage of .307 (58-16-137) to hold Penn State (22-7, 11-7 BIG) to just .258 (69-30-151). The Nittany Lions were led by Kashauna Williams with 18 kills for the night.
Izzy Ashburn led Wisconsin in assists, recording 29 helpers, while MJ Hammill closely followed with 18 assists.
The Badgers out-blocked the Nittany Lions 15.0-6.0 with Robinson leading the Badgers with nine stuffs followed by Danielle Hart with eight blocks.
Penn State finished with a plus-nine advantage in digs (55-46) with the Lion’s Maddy Bilinovic leading all players with 12 digs. Wisconsin was led by Guctekin with 11 digs followed by Ashburn and Sarah Franklin with nine each.
UW dominated the service line with a 6-5 service ace advantage over the Lions. Joslyn Boyer led UW with two aces, while Hammil, Guctekin, and Ashburn each earned one.
