MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin volleyball team’s conference opponents for the 2024 Big Ten regular season have been announced by the league office. The 2024 season includes the expansion of the Big Ten, including USC, Oregon, Washington and UCLA.
The conference schedule will remain at 20 matches with each of the conference’s program facing each other at least once in it’s Big Ten Conference slate. The Badgers will play two matches (home and away) against three teams, and single matchups against the remaining programs.
Wisconsin will play home and away matches with Minnesota, Nebraska, and Northwestern. Badger fans will be able to catch Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, and Washington at the historic UW Field House. For the team’s single matches on the road, Wisconsin will face Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Purdue Rutgers, UCLA, and USC this upcoming season.
The opponent rotation achieves the following:
- All 42 matchups that did not occur at a certain site in 2023 happen at that site in 2024.
- Institutions in eastern standard time and central time zone each have a single away/away road trip to pacific time zone.
- Geography and competitive balance for two-plays were considered to the extent possible.
