Kathmandu, Nepal, December 13, 2024 – In a historic move for Asian volleyball, Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA), the governing body for volleyball in Central Asia, and Baseline Ventures have on Friday announced a strategic partnership to revolutionise volleyball in the CAVA region.
CAVA is the supporting Zonal Association of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and represents the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and the AVC in Central Asia and South Asia to promote and develop Indoor, Beach, Grass and Snow Volleyball in the region. Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) is affiliated to Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
This partnership aims to accelerate the growth and popularity of volleyball across the CAVA region by building an eminent annual property – CAVA Nations Cup. This prestigious annual competition will feature participation from 6-8 teams across the CAVA region and offer FIVB ranking points, marking a significant milestone for volleyball in the area.
The CAVA Nations Cup is poised to become a flagship event, bringing together top teams from Central Asia to compete at the highest level. With CAVA’s deep-rooted knowledge of regional volleyball along with Baseline Ventures’ expertise in organising the successful Prime Volleyball League over the last three years and various other sports marketing initiatives, this association aims to enhance the competitive standards of the sport while fostering a passionate fanbase across Asian countries.
