LEXINGTON, Ky. — Lewis University volleyball players Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic) and Ally Hickey (Granger, Ind./Penn) were named American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Americans, the AVCA announced Wednesday (Dec. 11). Ray was named AVCA Third Team, while Hickey was awarded Honorable Mention.Â
Ray is making her third straight appearance on the All-American team after being awarded second team in 2022 and honorable mention in 2023. The graduate student played and started in all 34 matches and has seen the floor in 128 out of a possible 129 sets for Lewis.
She recorded 406 kills, 3.17 kills/set and a .334 attack percentage on the season. At the net, the Plainfield, Illinois native ranked first in total blocks in the GLVC and NCAA DII with 169, while ranking 15th in the nation with 1.32 blocks/set.  This season, Ray broke the school record for total blocks in a career and ended with 548.
Hickey was named AVCA All-American Honorable Mention for the first time in her career. The Granger, Indiana native saw action in 32 contests this season and played in 118 sets.
The libero recorded 677 digs (third in NCAA DII) and posted a 5.74 digs/set (seventh in nation). She was also awarded AVCA Midwest Region Honorable Mention and All-GLVC Second Team.Â
