Bella Ray Named CSC Second Team Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas — Lewis University junior middle hitter Bella Ray (Plainfield, Ill./Joliet Catholic) was named to the Academic All-America ® Division II Second Team as chosen by the College Sports Communicators which was announced on Wednesday (Dec. 21). 

Ray currently owns a 3.99 GPA and is majoring in middle level education and plays a key role on the Lewis women’s volleyball team.

Ray was also named All-GLVC First Team and AVCA All-American Second Team.

To be eligible for Academic All-America honors, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve who carries a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average and is at least a sophomore. Nominees must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games and be a starter or important reserve with legitimate athletic and academic credentials.
