Bison serve up two wins on the road


ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women’s volleyball team picked up two non-conference wins here Saturday as the Bison swept Rosemont College, 3-0, and defeated the host Falcons of Cedar Crest College, 3-1.

Gallaudet (10-10) took the first match of the day by the score of 25-9, 25-14, 25-13. The Bison then dropped its first set in seven tries as the Falcons won 19-25 before GU won the next three sets; 25-14, 25-23, 25-18.

GU served up 14 aces against Rosemont (3-9) as junior setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) and freshman setter Enza Visco (Riverside, Calif.) tallied five aces each. Giuntoli passed out 12 assists and made six digs while Visco tallied 10 assists. Freshman outside hitter Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with seven kills 

In the second match of the day, junior opposite Emily Wright (Penn Valley, Calif.) tallied 16 kills and five block assists as Giuntoli passed out 17 assists and Visco added 13 assists against the Falcons (4-6). Junior defensive specialist Leila Sicoli (Austin, Texas) made 14 digs and served up five aces. Lummer matched Sicoli with 14 digs and added six kills and two aces. Junior middle hitter Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) was strong upfront with three block solos along with sophomore Anya Pothorski (Indianapolis, Ind.), who matched Wright with five block assists.
