Boilers Retain Monon Spike for 15th Straight Year

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A light’s out performance by the No. 12 Purdue Boilermakers in the final three sets propelled the squad to a 3-1 victory versus Indiana (18-25, 25-15, 25-10, 25-13) to keep the Monon Spike. With the win, Purdue has retained the rivalry trophy for 15 consecutive years and move to 36-12 overall in the annual Spike match.

In one of Purdue’s strongest performances of the season, the team posted a season-high 17.5 total blocks and a .347 attack %, the most efficient mark in eight matches (last: .388 vs. Rutgers, 10/2).

Four Boilermakers hit over .350, including three above .430 in the match. 

Setter Megan Renner produced a Big Ten career-high 41 assists in the match, backed by a career-high two service aces, five blocks (one shy of her career-best) and four digs.
