Booth Named Defensive Player of the Week


MADISON, Wis. – Sophomore Carter Booth was named Big Ten volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the Big Ten conference Monday afternoon. Booth helped the Badgers to a 2-0 week tallying 13 total blocks, including two solo.

The six-foot-seven middle blocker averaged 2.17 blocks per set, including four alone in the third set against the Buckeyes, in the back-to-back sweeps over No. 22 Ohio State and Michigan. Booth also tallied 14.5 points, averaging 2.42 points per set.

The Big Ten weekly honor is the first in Booth’s career.

Wisconsin will continue conference play on the road as the team will face Iowa Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. and will follow-up with Illinois Saturday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. Wednesday’s match can be viewed on the Big Ten Network, while Saturday’s match can be streamed on B1G+.
