ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Empire 8 Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday, with outside hitter Maddie Boucher ’24 earning Co-Player of the Week honors for Elmira College women’s volleyball along with Hartwick’s Staecia Silofau.
The Red Hook, New York native registered a career-high 18 kills for the Purple & Gold in a 3-1 victory against Keystone on Tuesday inside Speidel Gymnasium. She recorded 45 kills through four matches on the week as Elmira went 2-2.
In a 3-set sweep at home against Penn College on Friday, Boucher finished the match with a .440 attacking percentage as he recorded 14 kills on 25 attempts. Boucher also recorded four aces from the service line to go along with four digs and two blocks.
Boucher closed the week for the Soaring Eagles by adding eight kills on Saturday against Montclair State and five kills earlier in the day against SUNY New Paltz. She is averaging 2.53 kills per set this season and leads the Purple & Gold with 81 kills through 10 matches.
The Soaring Eagles travel to Aurora, New York on Tuesday for a non-conference match against Wells College beginning at 7:00 P.M. Elmira returns to Speidel Gymnasium this Saturday for the Elmira College Tri-Match featuring SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Potsdam.
