Bruins Lose in Three at Loyola Marymount

LOS ANGELES – The No. 22-ranked UCLA women’s volleyball team lost in straight sets (24-26, 20-25, 19-25) to Loyola Marymount in Gersten Pavilion Thursday night.
 
Iman Ndiaye and Anna Dodson were the Bruins’ (4-2) leading point scorers with nine points apiece. Dodson was the lone Bruin to hit above .150, finishing with a .333 clip on the night.
 
The Lions (3-3) recorded 14.5 blocks over the three sets. Loyola Marymount’s Jacquelyn Moore had a match-high six total blocks while Isabella Bareford, Phoebe Awoleye, Audrey Klemp and Kari Geissberger each tallied five blocks.
 
Geissberger led the Lions’ attack with eight kills on 13 swings and no errors.
 
UCLA hit sub.-100 in all three sets (.027, .071 and .000), finishing the match at .029 with 31 attack errors. The Bruins struggled from the service line with 14 errors and just one ace.
 
Up Next: UCLA returns to Gersten Pavilion tomorrow for a neutral site contest versus San Jose State (4-1) at 5 p.m. PT. There is no available livestream for the match, however, fans can attend for free.
