Bruins Put on Serving Clinic in Sweep of Texas State

HONOLULU – The No. 23-ranked UCLA women’s volleyball team put on a serving clinic with 11 aces in its straight-set sweep (25-22, 25-13, 25-18) of Texas State at the Stan Sheriff Center Friday night.
 
Libero Mackenzie Cole led the Bruins (3-1) with five service aces, one shy of tying a career high, while élan McCall and Francesca Alupei both dealt two.
 
Freshman Grayce Olson, who made her debut in the starting lineup, reached double-digit kills for the second time in early career with 14 to lead the team tonight.
 
UCLA also passed it well against Texas State (3-2). The Bobcats had just one service ace as UCLA sided out on 72.3 percent (40-55) on Texas State’s serves.
 
Up Next: UCLA closes the Outrigger Volleyball Challenge versus host Hawai’i (2-3) Sunday night at 8 p.m. PT. The match is available for streaming on ESPN+. Similar to the Bruins, the Rainbow Wahine have also swept both West Virginia and Texas State thus far in the Outrigger Volleyball Challenge.
