Both women’s and men’s volleyball have had to battle for status within academic programmes and historically, it has been the colleges that invest the most time, money and energy into their volleyball provision that have the most success on a national level.
Whilst UCLA have always enjoyed plenty of success in the volleyball playing sphere, over the past couple of seasons it has been all about Hawaii in the men’s volleyball championship.
Going back to back in any NCAA discipline is always a remarkable feat and Hawaii will be looking to repeat the achievement once more in 2023.
What made Hawaii’s 2022 win even more remarkable, was their status as one of the unseeded sides – not that it affected them at all as they romped to victory.

In recent seasons, Hawaii have threatened the throne UCLA inherited but they remain a college packed with quality players – who always tend to turn up when it matters.
UCLA are by their own high standards a relative outside shot at +700 to go all the way and make it 20 NCAA titles in 2023 but writing them off can be perilous for any punter.
