CAVA PRESIDENT, ALL PARTICIPATING TEAMS ARRIVE IN NEPAL FOR CAVA WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL CHALLENGE CUP

CAVA PRESIDENT, ALL PARTICIPATING TEAMS ARRIVE IN NEPAL FOR CAVA WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL CHALLENGE CUP

Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) President Mr Mohamed Latheef arrived in Nepal Sunday morning to witness the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Challenge Cup, and was greeted at the airport by President of Nepal Volleyball Association Mr Jitendra Bahadur Chand and NVA Secretary General Mr Roshan Shrestha.

“We’re excited to have 8 teams from  our zone participate in this year’s event,” said CAVA President Mr Latheef at the airport. “The CAVA Women’s Challenge Cup is a celebration of athleticism and sportsmanship, and we’re delighted to have such a number of teams competing.” Mr Latheef also congratulated Nepal Volleyball Association, especially President Mr Jitendra and Secretary General Mr Roshan for the wonderful arrangements made for the Challenge Cup.

    

The CAVA Women’s Challenge Cup is set to kick off on May 22, 2023 with teams from 8 national federations participating in the tournament.

    

Hosts Nepal are in Pool A along with India, Bangladesh, Kyrgyzstan, while Pool B features Sri Lanka, Maldives, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

     

All participating teams arrived in host city Kathmandu, Nepal, and were greeted with a warm welcome by the organizers and local officials. The participating teams were greeted at the airport by NVA Secretary General Mr Roshan Shrestha. The teams were ushered to their accommodations where they will be staying for the duration of the tournament.

     

The current edition of the CAVA Women’s Challenge Cup is participated by 8 National Federations, and this is a new record of the  participations in a CAVA Women’s event.

 

CAVA President Mr Mohamed Latheef highlighted the importance of giving priority to Women’s Volleyball during the CAVA Annual General Meeting held on hybrid format in January 2023.

The initial preliminary inquiry of the teams was conducted last night, and the General Technical Meeting will take place at 7pm local time on Sunday.
