Centennial Conference Athletes of the Week - Oct. 3-9


LANCASTER, Pa. — With mid-October approaching, the fall 2022 season is officially entering the home stretch as Centennial teams vie for playoff positioning and the first conference championship of the fall is now just a few weeks away (cross country). 

Repeat weekly award winners for this week include Oscar Horwitz of Franklin & Marshall men’s soccer, who earned his second straight and third overall CC honor this fall, Rachel Conhoff of Ursinus women’s cross country, and Anna Scott of Johns Hopkins field hockey. Other winners from last week include Aidan Cantine of Swarthmore men’s cross country, Kate Ervin of Bryn Mawr field hockey, Ben Mulford of Muhlenberg men’s soccer, Breukelen Woodard of Johns Hopkins women’s soccer, Katherine Carstensen of McDaniel women’s soccer, Sydney Levins of F&M volleyball, and Alyssa Faville of Muhlenberg volleyball.

MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY

Athlete of the Week

Aidan Cantine, Sr., Swarthmore

Ridgewood, N.J. | Eastside Catholic

Cantine earned his first collegiate cross country first-place finish in the 8k as he led the pack through the corn fields of DeSales University. Cantine crossed the finish line at 25:19.2 to finish 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up.

Athlete of the Week

Rachel Conhoff, Sr., Ursinus

Christiansted, Virgin Islands | Good Hope Country Day School

Conhoff finished second overall in the DeSales Invitational on Saturday. She led the Bears on the 6k course with her time of 22:53.70 and was the top finishing Division III women’s runner in the race.

 

Offensive Player of the Week

Kate Ervin, So., F, Bryn Mawr 

Millington, Md. | Kent County

Ervin scored four goals in the Owls’ lone game of the week as Bryn Mawr pushed its record to 10-1 on the year. On Thursday against Washington College, Ervin found the back of the cage four times in an 8-2 Centennial Conference victory. Ervin’s four-goal game tied teammate Hazel Miller for the most single-game goals in program history.
