Cyrille Chahboune has a history of representing France at the highest levels across multiple sports. From Para alpine skiing and international wind tunnel competitions to winning gold in sailing at the 2018 Invictus Games in Sydney, Chahboune has consistently showcased his athletic talent on the international stage.
In 2018, Chahboune added sitting volleyball to his repertoire, quickly rising through the ranks. He trained diligently three times a week under the guidance of coach Dominique Duvivier and is driven by the goal of representing his country once again – this time at the Paralympic Games.
“It’s an honour for me to play sitting volleyball at the highest level, which I have never done. It’s a great feeling for me to represent France,” Chahboune reflects.
In addition to his sporting endeavours, Chahboune is a motivational speaker, sharing his experiences. His core belief, “Be a role model for those who follow, everything is possible if you don’t give up,” has guided him throughout his career.
His commitment to representing France is matched by his enthusiasm for embracing new experiences. During a training session in Vichy, France, he accepted a challenge to change his hairstyle and color, making him a distinctive presence in the Athletes Village.
“We were just training in Vichy, and someone challenged me to do this hairstyle and color. I am very happy with the outcome. Everyone seems to like it, and I am the only one who has it in the Paralympic Village. It’s quite an experience for me,” he added. “Absolutely, no regrets.”
