Christian Prayer and Max Roquet Earn All-MIVA Second Team Honors


ROMEOVILLE, Ill. — The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association announced that Christian Prayer (St. Louis, Mo./Parkway North) and Max Roquet (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) were named All-MIVA Second Team Honors this season. 

“I am really proud of Max and Christian, they worked hard to help drive this team and made some really great strides overall to help us finish in the top half of the conference,” Lewis Men’s Volleyball Head Coach Dan Friend said. “Excited for our group as we continue to improve and get an opportunity to host the first round of the MIVA tournament!”

Prayer played in 23 matches this season for the Flyers while ranking first on the team in service aces (32) and seventh in the MIVA second in kills (253), fifth in blocks (34). This is Prayer’s first All-MIVA award. 

Roquet saw action in 23 matches as well for Lewis while leading the team in kills (282) which also ranked No. 8 in the MIVA, second in service aces (17), third in blocks (45). Roquet was the MIVA Defensive Player of the Week on January 17 after recording 27 kills, 17 digs, six blocks and four service aces in a pair of matches. This is also Roquet’s first All-MIVA award. 

Lewis will be back in action Saturday, April 15 as the Flyers host Purdue Fort Wayne in the MIVA Tournament Quarterfinals at Neil Carey Arena starting at 7 p.m.  To purchase tickets click here
