Defending champions Grupa Azoty ZAKSA Kedzierzyn-Kozle secured their place in the Super Final for the third year in a row after a 3-1 away win over Sir Sicoma Monini Perugia in the CEV Champions League semifinals.
The Polish team, who won the championship in both 2021 and 2022, won the first two sets in Perugia, setting up an all-Polish clash with Jastrzebski Wegiel in the Super Final on May 20 in Turin, Italy.
With 13 points each, Bartosz Bednorz of ZAKSA and Jesus Herrera of Perugia shared the title of the match top scorer. Meanwhile, Marcin Janusz, the setter of Grupa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle, received the Most Valuable Player title.
The upcoming Super Final will make history as the first time two Polish teams go head-to-head in a Champions League final. With Grupa Azoty Kedzierzyn-Kozle defending their title and Jastrzebski Wegiel Jastrzebie-Zdroj eager to take the championship, the match promises to be a thrilling encounter for all volleyball fans.
