Jiangmen, China, July 9, 2024 – Before the curtain comes down on the 22nd Asian Women’s U20 Volleyball Championship at the Jiangmen Sports Center Gymnasium here on Tuesday, the Control Committee President Mr Cai Yi, Technical Delegate Dr Eom Han Joo and AVC Coordinator Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, himself AVC Executive Director, led the CC Members to convey their thanks and appreciation to all working groups for their key roles in making the topflight nine-day championship a smooth run and a great success.
Also in attendance in this special meeting at the Meeting Room inside the 8,500-seater gymnasium were Referee Delegate Mr Chang Chin Jong, Referee Sub Committee Mr Wang Ning, all accompanying referees, Referee Manager Mr Du Ning, Assistant Referee Manger Mr Chen Zhuoyuan, Line Judes, E-Scorers, VIS staff and Announcers Ms He Ying and Mr Chen Ye.
The championship, which serves as the Asian qualification for the 2025 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U21 World Championship, is being held from July 1 to 9, with a total of 12 teams vying for top honor. They are hosts China, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, New Zealand, Hong Kong China and Australia.
In his speech during the special meeting, Mr Shanrit said, “On behalf of AVC President Mrs Rita Subowo, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to China Volleyball Association and Jiangmen City for their great contributions in hosting this championship successfully. I also thank those who helped make this championship a smooth run including all Control Committee Members, all accompanying referees and line judges. I wish all of you a safe journey back home.”
CC President Mr Cai Yi said, “I would like to thank everyone to work together here for a successful organization of the 22nd Asian Women’s U20 Volleyball Championship. I do hope that you have a wonderful time here in Jiangmen and hope that we can work together again in other AVC tournaments in the near future. I wish all of you a safe journey back home.”
Technical Delegate Dr Eom Han Too also said highly of the organisers and those who played part of the success of the championship.
