The State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) has recognized 287 SUNY Cortland student-athletes for a total of 290 awards on its 2023-24 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll.
Athletes earn a spot on the list by recording at least a 3.3 cumulative grade point average. The 2023-24 school year is the eighth for the honor roll. Cortland’s 290 honors are its highest total since the honor roll began. Previous totals were 283 in 2022-23, 267 in 2021-22, 268 in 2020-21, 253 in 2019-20, 210 in 2018-19, 174 in 2017-18 and 166 in 2016-17.

Men’s Lacrosse – 18
Women’s Gymnastics – 17
Men’s Soccer – 17
Women’s Ice Hockey – 16

Men’s Ice Hockey – 12
Women’s Swimming and Diving – 12
Baseball – 10

Women’s Basketball – 6
Men’s Basketball – 4
Three student-athletes earned awards in multiple sports (not including cross country/track and field, which are combined for the purpose of this list). All of Cortland’s sports are honored, even if they are not sports sponsored by the SUNYAC.
