MORRISVILLE, N.Y. – The Cortland women’s volleyball team completed its fourth consecutive perfect SUNYAC regular season with a 25-19, 25-18, 25-10 win at Morrisville.
The Red Dragons are now 22-5 overall and closed the league schedule with a 9-0 mark. Cortland has won 36 straight conference regular-season matches, going 9-0 in 2021, 2022, 2023 and this fall. Cortland will host the SUNYAC tournament semifinals and finals Nov. 15-16.
Anna Pilkey (Ballston Spa) led Cortland with 11 kills and three aces and also had five digs. She finished the night with a .375 attack percentage, committing just two errors in 24 attempts. Kira Pirrera (Hauppauge/Smithtown West) ended with six kills and one error in 15 attempts (.333) and had two blocks.
Kyrah Wilbur (Syracuse/Baldwinsville) posted five kills, eight digs and three blocks and Jennifer Koestner (Syosset) had four kills with no errors in seven attempts. Anna Lynch (Rochester/Our Lady of Mercy) and Samantha Rodriguez (Camarillo, CA/Adolfo Camarillo) each registered three kills, with Lynch also adding four blocks. Rodriguez led the Red Dragons with 16 assists and also totaled seven digs. Ryan Hinshaw (Aurora, IL/Joliet Catholic Academy) had eight assists and Mikenzie Martens (Carthage) led the team with 16 digs.
Emily Huppee led Morrisville (14-9, 6-3 SUNYAC) with 15 kills. Kayci Olson put down nine kills, Cassandra Bellmore dished out 25 assists and Kayla Sheasby had 20 digs.
Cortland finished with a .318 team attack percentage, recording 34 kills and only six errors in 88 attempts. The host Mustangs were limited to a .054 team percentage with 32…
