Los Angeles, California – On day one of the Pac-12 South Invitational the Washington Husky Beach Volleyball team took on No. 17 Arizona and No. 7 Stanford. The Huskies started the day by defeating Arizona 3-2, the UW first win over Arizona since 2007. Then immediately followed by a 2-3 loss to Stanford.

Coming off a National Pair of the Week recognition, Husky pair Chloe Loreen and Natalie Robinson continue to succeed. “Chloe and Natalie are continuing to play at a high level and it’s fun to watch them continue to get better,” Head Coach Derek Olson said, “They’re in a good place right now but will be tested tomorrow against the best player in college, Megan Kraft, and her longtime partner Delaynie Maple. It should be fun to watch.” The pair won both of their games today.

Olson also commented on the No. 5 pair and their ability to clinch two crucial wins. “I thought our 5’s were great today. That’s what we’ve seen in practice all year, so it was great to see them rebound and get two quality wins.”

“Overall, we are trending in the right direction and the more this teams gets battle tested the more belief they will have in themselves,” Olson stated, “It’s still early and we have two great opportunities tomorrow that we have to be ready for.”

The Huskies will face off against No. 4 USC and Oregon tomorrow at 10 AM PST and 2 PM PST.
