EAST LANSING, Mich. – The first third of the 2023 volleyball season has come and gone as the Michigan State volleyball program wrapped up the non-conference portion of its schedule last weekend in Storrs, Conn. While the team has its eyes firmly set on its upcoming B1G opening weekend, we’ll take a look back at the first four weeks of the season to break down how the Spartans fared.
Michigan State enters Big Ten play with an overall record of 8-3, having won four straight and eight of its last nine matches. The Spartans stumbled out of the gate, falling to now No. 16-ranked Arkansas and Tulsa, but have since rebounded in a big way to defeat Central Arkansas, Belmont, Syracuse, Delaware State, North Carolina, UConn, Brown and Binghamton.
