LUBBOCK, Texas – With three Sun Devils earning double-doubles, No. 13 Sun Devil Volleyball’s offense caught fire to sweep Texas Tech (25-22, 25-21, 25-20) at United Supermarkets Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Notable Stats
- Arizona State (16-2, 5-1 Big 12) earned its 11th sweep of the season against Texas Tech (9-8, 1-4 Big 12).
- Despite the slow start on offense, the Sun Devils ended up hitting .234 compared to the Red Raiders’ .128, 53 kills to 32. Three from ASU reached double-digit kills in the three-set win.
- Senior outside hitter Geli Cyr had 16 kills and 10 digs for her fourth double-double of the year, second in a row. This was her 12th match this season in double figures.
- Graduate libero Mary Shroll notched 28 digs, her sixth match this season with 20 or more digs (14th of her career). This was her 20th-straight match with double-digit digs. It also is the highest dig total for a Sun Devil this season in three sets.
- With her second double-double of the year, graduate outside hitter Shania Cromartie had 13 kills and 10 digs. The kill total matches her season high, which she’s had twice before.
- A third player with a double-double was graduate setter Argentina Ung with 39 assists and 10 digs. It was her sixth double-double of the year. Additionally, this is her highest assist total in a sweep this season.
- The third Sun Devil in double figures in kills was graduate middle blocker Claire Jeter with 10.
