EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon volleyball team check in at No. 9 in Tuesday’s release of the AVCA Top 25 preseason poll. For the second time in program history, the Ducks will start their season ranked among the top-10 teams in the country; UO was ranked eighth entering the 2013 campaign.

Oregon finished last fall with a 26-6 overall record and a trip to the regional final—Elite 8—in Louisville, Ky. Along with a 17-3 mark in Pac-12 play, the Ducks put together a program-record 16-match winning streak.

The Ducks return nine players from last year’s roster including All-Americans Mimi Colyer and Hannah Pukis. Colyer, an AVCA third-team pick, was also tabbed the National Freshman of the Year while Pukis earned a spot on the All-America Second Team.

Oregon is set to face eight teams ranked in the top 25 of Tuesday’s poll—Stanford (3), Pittsburgh (T5), Minnesota (7), Marquette (12), San Diego (13), Ohio State (14), Washington State (21) and USC (22)—along with four other teams—Washington, Hawaii, Utah and Pepperdine—receiving votes early on.

Fans can get an early look at this year’s team this Saturday, Aug. 19, when the Ducks host Portland State for an exhibition match at Matthew Knight Arena. The preseason matchup is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. with doors at the north and P2 garage entrances opening at 5 p.m.

Season tickets, starting at just $54, are available through the UO ticket office or by clicking HERE.
