EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team hosts Bushnell in its home opener Wednesday. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Amazon Park. The Ducks play two other home matches—March 23 vs Corban and April 20 vs Portland—this season.

Last Time Out
The Ducks split a pair of matches on the final day of the season-opening Cactus Classic, sweeping their way past UTEP before a tight, 3-2 setback to Boise State. In the win, Oregon picked up straight-set wins on courts two, three and four to secure the dual. The Ducks completed the sweep with comebacks at 1 and 5, both duos rallying from a set down.

Nice Start
Ella Tyus and Bea Wetton went 3-1 during the team’s opening weekend in Tucson, Ariz. Playing at the No. 2 spot in the UO lineup, the duo had wins over pairs from Arizona State, Boise State and UTEP. In their win against UTEP, Tyus and Wetton clinched the Ducks’ first dual win of the season.

Feb. 24 vs Arizona State: def. Anya Pemberton/Ivey Weber (ASU) – 23-21, 21-13
Feb. 24 vs #18 Arizona: lost to Hope Shannon/Abby Russell – 21-17, 18-21, 23-21

The Opponent: Bushnell
Bushnell carries a 3-0 record into Wednesday’s match in Eugene. The Beacons opened their season Feb. 17-18 with a trio of 4-1 victories, beating Southern Oregon twice and Northwest University (Wash.).

Building on a High
Oregon, in its second season under head coach Jason Dillard, set a single-season program record with 14 wins in 2022. Among the highlights was a 4-1 win over then No. 17 Arizona at the Pac-12 South Invite for the program’s first-ever victory over a ranked opponent. The Ducks also picked up a win over Utah in the opening round of the Pac-12 Championship.
