DURHAM – Sixth-ranked Louisville swept Duke, 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-18), Sunday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Louisville hit .263 percent for the match and limited Duke to a .183 clip.
The Blue Devils were led offensively by Kerry Keefe and Gracie Johnson with 15 and 10 kills, respectively, as Keefe hit .333 percent for the match. Setters Emma Worthington and Mille Muir registered 18 and nine assists, respectively, while libero Madison Bryant collected 12 digs. At the net, Lizzie Fleming and Rachel Richardson each added three blocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Louisville hit .341 in the first set to take an early 1-0 lead and was led by Anna DeBeer with seven kills and no errors for a .538 clip. Keefe led the offensive charge for Duke with seven of her own.
- Both teams struggled to settle into any offensive rhythm in the second set. Louisville’s blocking contingent either halted the Blue Devils’ offense with blocks or got quality touches to slow the ball down, allowing its defense to collect a match-high 21 digs.
- Keefe continued to lead Duke’s offense with four kills as the Blue Devils committed three service errors.
- Duke saw its best offensive output of the match in the third set, .250 percent, as Jess Robinson added three kills while Rylie Kadel tallied two with no errors off the bench.
- The Cardinals took an early 7-2 lead as they hit .429 percent, forcing Duke into its first timeout of the set. Louisville served tough as four different players registered aces to help win its 14th match this fall.
