DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke volleyball team is primed to take on rival North Carolina in two matches this week. The Blue Devils will welcome the Tar Heels Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m., match in Cameron Indoor Stadium before making the short trip to Chapel Hill Friday for a 7 p.m., game. Both contests will be streamed on ACCNX.
Last Time Out
Duke opened ACC competition with two dubs as it defeated Boston College (3-2) and Syracuse (3-1) in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Kerry Keefe led the team with 39 kills as she hit .302 percent, while Breonna Goss knocked down 20 for a .429 hitting percentage. Setter Grace Penn dished 97 assists, including a career-high 52 versus Syracuse, while libero Mailinh Godschall added 40 digs.
A Closer Look at the Series
Duke and North Carolina meet for the 126th and 127th time in program history as the Tar Heels hold a 69-56 lead in the all-time series. The Tar Heels have won 10 of the last 12 meetings.
Scouting the Tar Heels
North Carolina comes into the two matches 10-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Mabrey Shaffmaster leads all hitters with 151 kills and a .299 hitting percentage. Setter Zoe Behrendt has dished 264 assists, while libero Maddy May has collected 157 digs. Alexis Engelbrecht leads the blocking unit with 46.0 total blocks, while Shaffmaster leads the team with 21 aces. As a team, the Tar Heels are hitting .243 percent and are limited their opponents to a .137 clip.
