Emma Reilly Named SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week


Cortland junior middle blocker Emma Reilly (Massapequa Park/Massapequa) has been selected as the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Women’s Volleyball Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 8.
 
Reilly averaged two blocks per set during three Cortland sweeps at the Skidmore Classic last weekend. She recorded five total blocks, one solo, in a 3-0 win over Williams on Friday, and on Saturday she had four blocks, one solo, in a 3-0 win over Brandeis and nine blocks, two solo, in a 3-0 victory against Skidmore. Reilly also finished with 21 kills and a .439 attack percentage during the tournament.
 
In 18 sets played over six matches, Reilly is averaging a team-high 1.5 blocks per set. She also averages two kills per set and has a team-high .417 attack percentage.
 
Cortland (4-2) will host SUNY Poly Friday at 6 p.m. and will host a tri-match Saturday with John Carroll of Ohio and Kean of New Jersey. Cortland faces John Carroll at noon and Kean at 4 p.m.
