Exhibition Paired with Maui Relief Effort

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon volleyball team will host Portland State in an exhibition match Saturday at Matthew Knight Arena. First serve of the preseason matchup is scheduled for 6 p.m. Admission is free.

The Ducks will also hold a supplies drive to benefit those impacted by the Maui wildfires. Items will be collected from 5-6:30 p.m. at the North and P2 parking garage entrances. Those wishing to contribute will also have a chance to drop off items Monday, Aug. 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MKA volleyball offices off Villard Street.

The supplies list includes hygiene and toiletry needs, drawstring/re-sealable bags, cleaning wipes, non-perishable food items or snacks, pillows and blankets, and kids’ items such as small toys and coloring books.

The team, as part of its season-opening trip to the Wahine Classic (Aug. 25-27) hosted by the University of Hawaii, will travel with donations that will then be shipped to distribution centers in impacted areas.

For the second time in program history, the Ducks will start the season ranked among the top-10 teams in the country. Oregon checked in at No. 9 in Tuesday’s release of the AVCA preseason top 25. Fans can get an early look at the Ducks’ roster that features nine returners, seven freshmen and three transfers.

Oregon finished last season with a 26-6 overall record, a 17-3 mark in Pac-12 play and advanced to the NCAA regional final—Elite 8—in Louisville, Ky.

Season tickets, starting at just $54, are available through the UO ticket office or by clicking HERE. The Ducks’ home schedule begins Sept. 22 in the team’s conference opener against Oregon State.
