PITTSBURGH – Rachel Fairbanks and Olivia Babcock have once again been named ACC Setter and Freshman of the Week, respectively. This is Fairbanks’ second ACC honor while Babcock records her fourth.
Fairbanks ran an efficient offense last weekend, setting the Panthers to a .322 hitting percentage average after sweeps over Virginia and NC State. She totaled a match-high 20 assists in her two sets played against the Cavaliers while adding three digs, a block and a kill. Fairbanks followed that up with a match-high 32 assists and added seven digs, three blocks and a kill against the Wolfpack.
Babcock led the Panthers once again averaging 3.67 kills per set and 4.58 points per set over the weekend. She recorded nine kills, two digs, two blocks and two aces against Virginia. The following match she had a match-high 13 kills while hitting .345 against NC State. Babcock also registered five digs, five blocks and an assist to propel Pitt to the sweep.
