Finalists Announced for 2022-23 C-Club Female Rookie Athlete of the Year

The finalists have been announced for the 2022-23 SUNY Cortland C-Club Female Rookie Athlete of the Year. Only student-athletes in their first year of collegiate competition are eligible for the award.

The finalists also will be recognized at the C-Club Athletics Awards Ceremony on Monday, May 1, at Brown Auditorium in Old Main. In a new process this year, however, the winners will not be announced until the summer after the completion of the spring season.

The 2022-23 C-Club Female Rookie Athlete of the Year Finalists are:

Mackenzie Beck (Port Jefferson Station/Comsewogue), Lacrosse

Ainsley Delacourt (Stoney Creek, ON/T.A. Blakelock), Ice Hockey

Gianna Mirigliano (Springfield, PA), Gymnastics

Emma Reilly (Massapequa Park/Massapequa), Volleyball

Kimberly Westenberg (Massapequa Park/Massapequa), Softball

Sarah Wiggins (Carson City, NV/Carson), Golf

Mackenzie Beck, Lacrosse (Attack)

 

Season Stats/Honors (through April 25):

* 9 games played

* 27 goals, 3 assists, 30 points

* 3 or more goals in six games

* Fourth on team in goals and sixth in points despite missing six games due to injury
