PITTSBURGH – Head coach Dan Fisher and the University of Pittsburgh volleyball team have signed ACC veteran, Logan Mosley, for the 2023 season. Mosley, a four-year starter for Virginia Tech as a defensive specialist and libero. Her 1,304 career digs is the 7th most in VT history and leads the ACC among active players returning next season.

“Logan has been a proven passer and defender in the ACC throughout her four years at Virginia Tech,” Coach Fisher said. “We’ve seen first-hand the way she can impact a match and we’re happy to have her on our side of the net. We really hit it off in the recruiting process. She’s a really good fit for us both in terms of talent and playing philosophy. I’m excited to bring her into our gym and watch her compete.”

Mosley’s experience speaks for itself, with 3.29 career digs/set over a span of 396 sets, her 1,304 career digs would be the 8th most in Pitt Volleyball history. Her best season came as a freshman, when she delivered 507 digs in 120 sets (4.225/set) on her way to setting the Virginia Tech freshman digs record. She has also proven to be strong from the service line, racking up 72 career aces to just 82 errors. She has recorded 20+ aces twice in her career (2019 & 2022) while also posting 50+ assist seasons in 2019, 2020 and 2021.

“Playing against Pitt my last four years at Virginia Tech, I always knew they were a very talented team but I could see that they had something special,” Mosley said. “I am so excited to be a part of this special team and to be able to learn and grow from my new teammates and coaches. This is something that I am definitely looking forward to. I am so honored and thankful to be able to use my last year of eligibility at Pitt. I am very excited for this new adventure and to be a Pitt Panther!”

The Pitt coaching staff has a strong recent history with graduate transfer liberos. Most recently, Hali Hillegas transferred from Iowa State for the 2019 season in which she earned 2nd Team All-ACC honors and led the Panthers with 473 digs enroute to an ACC title.

Mosley joins Emma Monks as the second graduate transfer to join Pitt’s highest rated incoming class in program history that already includes four incoming freshmen signed in the fall.
