FIVB LEADERSHIP MEETS KEY SPORTS STAKEHOLDERS AND MEDIA GROUP IN INDONESIA

Productive meetings were held with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, National Olympic Committee and Emtek Group

FIVB President Dr Ary S. Graça F° and FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo held a number of highly productive meetings in Jakarta with the aim of boosting the development of the sport in Indonesia by improving the level of the national teams and bringing more hosting opportunities to the country.

The meetings were held with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Olympic Committee of Indonesia, as well as the Emtek Group, Indonesia’s media conglomerate.

The FIVB President, alongside National Volleyball Federation of Indonesia (PBVSI) President Imam Sudjarwo and other members of the FIVB and PBVSI delegations, met with the Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Indonesia, Gunawan Suswantoro,  to discuss the positive social impact of volleyball on people’s health and well-being. Also discussed was the opportunity for the Ministry to work together with the FIVB and PBVSI to improve the level of Indonesia’s national teams while boosting the development of volleyball and beach volleyball in the country.

FIVB Delegation meets the Indonesia Olympic Committee

FIVB General Director Fabio Azevedo led the discussions with Indonesia Olympic Committee Secretary General Harry Warganegara, sharing the long-term vision and roadmap for the development of national teams in Indonesia. He also highlighted the overall goal of the national teams qualifying for the FIVB World Championships and, eventually, the Olympic Games.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports and Indonesia Olympic Committee expressed their commitment to working together with the FIVB and PBVSI to support the long-term development plan, as well as requesting additional support via Olympic Solidarity. They also agreed to work with all the parties involved to support the hosting of more international events in the country, and to explore the potential of bidding for the Age Group Volleyball World Championships.
