Florida Volleyball Ranks No. 16 in Newest AVCA/TARAFLEX Rankings


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida volleyball team ranks No. 16 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s (AVCA) newest 2024 Division I women’s volleyball poll, released by the organization on Monday.  

The Gators are 6-2 heading into the last week of nonconference play, with three home matches slated during week three. Florida hosts No. 18 Florida State on Tuesday, Sept. 17 before welcoming North Texas on Friday, Sept. 20 and Buffalo on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Florida returns home after finishing 1-1 in Atlanta, GA last week. The Gators fell 3-0 to then No. 15 Georgia Tech on Sept. 11, but bounced back the next day with a 3-0 win over Alabama State.

Of their remaining 20 matches, Florida is set to face seven opponents that are either ranked or receiving votes in the current poll, including two back-to-back home matches against top-15 opponents – Kentucky and Texas.
