Florida Volleyball Remains No. 24 in Newest AVCA/TARAFLEX Top-25 Poll


The Gators have been ranked inside the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association Top-25 poll for 527 consecutive weeks.

 

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – After coming back and defeating Tennessee 3-1 (25-27, 25-23, 25-16, 25-20) on Friday, Oct. 28 to tally their third-consecutive conference win, the Florida volleyball team stays at No. 24 in the newest 2024 Division I women’s volleyball poll, released by the organization on Monday. 

In their only match last week, Florida reset their conference hitting-percentage to a .444 clip, with seven players contributing to the team’s 68 kills. On the defensive end, UF edged the Lady Vols 7.0 – 6.0 in total team blocks, while eight Gators contributed to at least one dig on the stats sheet. Additionally, Florida dropped four aces behind the service line.

Of their remaining nine regular-season matches, Florida is set to face two opponents that are either ranked or receiving votes in the current poll. The Gators have already played against four teams who are mentioned in Monday’s poll: No. 9 Texas, No. 14 Kentucky, No. 16 Georgia Tech and No. 23 Florida State.
