Four Gators Included in 2024 Fall Commencement Ceremonies

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Two Florida volleyball players become UF’s newest alumni after receiving their undergraduate degrees, while two Gators celebrate further education accomplishments in the University of Florida’s fall commencement ceremonies this weekend.
 

 
Earning SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades the past three years, Trinity Adams is one of five Gator student-athletes graduating cum laude when she walks across the stage to receive her undergraduate degree in Marine Sciences. During her time in the Orange and Blue, she was a member of the 2022 Florida volleyball Southeastern Conference Championship team. The Radford, Virginia native played in over 100 matches in her Gator career, recording 440 digs and 75 aces along the way throughout her four years in the Orange and Blue.

Gabrielle Essix receives her degree in Education Sciences. The Hoover, Alabama native was a 2023 SEC Academic Honor Roll recipient as well as was a member of volleyball’s 2022 Southeastern Conference Championship team. During her senior year, she was been limited to only one match this season due to injury, but what a match it was going for a career high 16 kills and hitting .714 in the win over FSU on Sept. 17.

After earning her bachelor’s degree in Sports Management at UNLV, Isabel Martin receives her Master’s degree in Sports Management from UF. Martin started in all 31 during her season in the Orange and Blue. She is one of four Gator student-athletes being honored during commencement that has received All-American honors during their career, and was most recently named an AVCA All-Southeast Region Honorable Mention. The Mauerstetten, Bavaria, Germany native recorded 315 kills, 206 digs, 42 total blocks and 28 aces in her one season at Florida.

A UF Telecommunications Fall 2023 graduate, Elli McKissock earns a Sports Management Undergraduate Certificate. The Windermere, Fla. native will leave her mark all over the Gator record book, as she became the all-time program leader in career digs in her final match as a Gator, surpassing former Gator Elyse Cusack 2,138 career digs to become Florida volleyball’s  leader in career digs with 2,147. Her 144 career aces rank 8th in the program, while being 21st for career assists with 544. Having earned SEC Defensive Player of the Week five times throughout her career, she was also a 4x member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
