Gators Welcome In-State Rival Florida State for Top 20 Matchup


GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The No. 16 Florida volleyball team faces their first ranked opponent at home on Tuesday, welcoming No. 18 Florida State to Gainesville for the annual in-state rivalry matchup.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for fans, with action starting at 7 p.m. inside the Stephen O’Connell Center. The top-20 matchup will air on ESPN with Paul Sunderland and Missy Whittemore on call. Fans can also listen to ESPN 98.1FM/850AM WRUF with Tom Collett and Nick Cheronis, or follow @GatorsVB on socials for match updates.

The Gators hold the 45-21 advantage over the Seminoles, including a 38-7 record under Mary Wise. In the last year’s matchup, Florida came away with 3-2 comeback win over Florida State inside Tully Gym.

Florida returns home after finishing 1-1 in Atlanta, GA last week. The Gators fell 3-0 to then No. 15 Georgia Tech on Sept. 11, but bounced back the next day with a 3-0 win over Alabama State.
