The stage is set for iconic athlete celebrations at Paris 2024 as volleyball continues to inspire people to get moving
The FIVB and global Volleyball Family today join the world in celebrating Olympic Day as volleyball and beach volleyball continue to embrace the Olympic values while inspiring hundreds of millions to get moving and celebrate in style.
This year, the Olympic Day aims to be a global warm up to the Olympic Games Paris 2024, now just over one month away. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has launched the Let’s Move and Celebrate initiative, created in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), to inspire and encourage people to embrace the joy of movement this summer, with a particular emphasis on iconic athlete celebration moves.
Both volleyball and beach volleyball will feature on the Paris 2024 programme having become some of the hottest tickets at the Games. Fans worldwide are gearing up to see their favourite teams and players dig, set, jump, spike, block and celebrate on the world stage.
Volleyball will return for its 16th consecutive appearance at the Games, with the electrifying competition set to unfold at the South Paris Expo from 27 July to 11 August. Defending men’s champions France will be looking to ride the wave of home support to emulate their historic gold-medal winning performance at Tokyo 2020 and this time celebrate in front of their home fans.

It will no doubt be a tough route ahead with the level of international volleyball higher than ever. They will know their Olympic paths next week, with the final qualified teams set to be confirmed today (23 June) and the men’s Drawing of Lots to be held in Łódź, Poland, on June 26, at 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT).
On the women’s side, meanwhile, the qualified teams and draw are all set with many exciting clashes in store for the Games. Team USA, the defending Tokyo 2020 champions, will again be aiming for volleyball gold in Paris.
