PITTSBURGH – Graduate senior Serena Gray has been named ACC Player of the Week following two elite performances to begin ACC play. Gray led No. 10 Pitt (11-, 2-0) to a pair of four-set victories over North Carolina and NC State, displaying incredible efficiency on offense in the process. She made 24 kills on .600 hitting while also averaging 1.00 block/set in a dominant display to begin the conference season.
Gray posted two double-digit kill performances while hitting over .500 in both matches. Her 10 kills on .750 hitting against UNC is the highest hitting percentage by a Panther with 10+ kills since 2020 and the second highest such percentage in Gray’s career.
She followed that with a season-high 14 kills on .522 hitting in Pitt’s four-set victory over NC State. This is her fourth time hitting .500 or better in consecutive matches with at least 10 attempts in her two years at Pitt with her most recent such stretch coming during last year’s NCAA Tournament (vs. Kansas and Purdue).
Gray holds a .412 hitting percentage this season, the 16th highest in the nation and is currently on track to be just the second Panther in program history to record back-to-back seasons with over .400 hitting.
Gray is the second Panther in as many weeks to be named ACC Player of the Week after Courtney Buzzerio earned the honor one week ago. Pitt joins Georgia Tech as the only schools in the conference to win the award in consecutive weeks and is the first to do so with two different student-athletes.

Pitt closes out the week with a Sunday afternoon non-conference match against High Point (9-6, 2-0 Big South).
