Hangzhou, China, September 18, 2023 – Control Committee Members, referees officiating in the 19th Asian Games Men’s Volleyball Competition, local organisers, working groups and team officials from all 19 participating teams actively assembled in the Meeting Hall inside NOC Service Center here on Monday for the General Technical Meeting.
Dr Eom Han-Joo from Korea, Technical Delegate of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Men’s Volleyball Competition, presided over the meeting, joined by AVC Coordinator Mr Shanrit Wongprasert, himself AVC Executive Director, and Mr Cai Yi, AVC Senior Executive Vice President and Deputy Director of the volleyball competition and leader of the China Volleyball Association. To everyone’s great delight, Mr Wei Jizhong, FIVB and AVC Honorary Life President as well as OCA Honorary Life Vice President, turned up at the meeting as guest of honor.
Mr Wei Jizhong delivered a welcome speech to all attendants, citing that he was very happy for the huge participation of Asian teams and wished every team the very best of luck in the topflight competition of the quadrennial sports extravaganza in Hangzhou, China.
Mr Shanrit also gave an opening speech to all participants, saying on behalf of AVC President Mrs Rita Subowo that he and all meeting attendants were delighted that Mr Wei Jizhong was gracing them with his presence in the meeting. He has pinned his hopes on kind cooperation between AVC, CC Members, 19th Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) and local organizes to play a key role in the remarkable success of 19th Asian Games Men’s Volleyball Competition.
Introduction of all Control Committee Members has been made by Technical Delegate Dr Eom Han-Joo. Referee Delegate Mr Takashi Shimoyama and Mr Cai Yi also did likewise, with the former introducing all international referees in charge in the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 Men’s Volleyball Competition to the meeting and the latter presenting working groups and local organisers. Presentation of delegations from all 19 participating teams was also made in the same occasion.
After that, Dr Eom reported on the technical matters including confirmation of team list and officials on the bench, team composition, uniform color assignment, dress uniformity of the officials on the bench, the court side and a path to Mixed Zone after match, places for team seats, video cameras and statisticians.
