Head Coach Ryan McDonough '19 Releases Men's Volleyball Schedule for 2025

ELMIRA, N.Y. – Elmira College third-year men’s head volleyball coach, Ryan McDonough ’19, announced the Soaring Eagles’ 2025 schedule this afternoon. EC will open the season on the road and will play host to a tri-match and a quad-match in January.

The Soaring Eagles open their 2025 campaign on Saturday, January 11, in northeast Pennsylvania at the Wilkes Tri-Match. EC will play back-to-back games that are scheduled for 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.

After a two-week hiatus, the Soaring Eagles will open their home schedule with a tri-match inside Speidel Gymnasium on Saturday, January 25. EC will host Kings College and Buffalo State in the tri-match and will play in the first game at 11:00 AM before a break in action and returning for the final match at 3:00 PM.

One week later, EC will pack the gym again as it hosts SUNY Poly, Grove City, and Curry College. The quad-match will run from Friday, January 31, to Saturday, February 1, and feature six matches in total. EC will compete at 6:00 PM on Friday against SUNY Poly, 11:00 AM against Grove City, and 1:00 PM against Curry on Saturday.

On Tuesday, February 4, EC will travel to Hilbert for a match against the Hawks. The Soaring Eagles have had the Hawks’ number, winning all 11 matches in program history. In the 11 meetings, the Soaring Eagles have lost only two sets, outscoring the Hawks, 33-2.

Two days later, on Thursday, February 6, Elmira will welcome Marymount University for a 4:00 PM matchup. This will only be the second time that the Saints will travel to Speidel Gymnasium, having beaten the Soaring Eagles 3-1 back on January 13, 2017.

The Soaring Eagles will head to another tri-match on Saturday, February 8, at Russell Sage College. Elmira will play back-to-back matches at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM against Elms and Russell Sage, respectively.

At 7:00 PM on Wednesday, February 12, the Soaring Eagles will head out west to take on the Houghton Highlanders. In the only meeting of the Soaring Eagles and Highlanders in program history, Elmira came away with a 3-0 win on March 16, 2024.

The Buffalo State tri-match comes next for Elmira on Saturday, February 15. At 12:00 PM, EC will take the court against Buffalo State and following the conclusion of that match, stay on and battle Geneva College. EC beat Buffalo State in the schools’ only meeting last year…
