Manama, Bahrain, August 4, 2024 – Hong Kong, China and Saudi Arabia were both victorious on Sunday in their final 13th-16th classification matches in the 15th Asian Men’s U18 Volleyball Championship at Isa Sport City Hall C here.
Hong Kong, China claimed 13th place overall after edging past Lebanon 3-2 (25-17, 25-23, 23-25, 19-25, 15-6), while Saudi Arabia secured 15th position after defeating fellow-Gulf side Kuwait 3-0 (25-19, 25-23, 26-24).
Ko Ching Kin spearheaded Hong Kong, China in their victory, scoring a game-high 28 points. Li Sai Shing added 14 in the win. Charbel Al Najour was the leading scorer for Lebanon with 16 points, while Serge Chehab chipped in 15.
Hong Kong, China, won for the second time in this tournament against Lebanon. They had previously faced each other in the consolation round pools.
For the Saudi Arabians, the trio of Azzam Alsubaie, Sohil Khan, and Gasem Altwal led the way in their game, scoring 16, 15, and 14 points respectively. Bandar Alahmad was the top scorer for the Kuwaitis with 12.
Saudi Arabia claimed their only second triumph in the tournament, both of them against Kuwait.
