Iran tries to pick up ball during their match against hosts Nepal
Kathmandu, Nepal, August 6, 2024 – The stage is set for an exciting conclusion of the CAVA Women’s Volleyball Nations League, as hosts Nepal and India pulled off dramatic wins in much-anticipated semifinals to fight it out for the eventual crown.
Nepal celebrate their win against Iran
In the first semifinal match, India showcased their dominance with exceptional skill and coordination to demolish Sri Lanka in straight sets 25-15, 25-16, and 25-23.

For India, it was a repeated feat over the Sri Lankans as they had already beaten the same opponents in straight sets in the round-robin preliminaries.
The second semifinal encounter saw Nepal play in front of a spirited crowd of 4,000 home fans, delivering a outstanding performance to put it past Iran in hard-fought three-setter 25-21, 28-26, 25-19 and ensure their slot in the Wednesday’s showdown.
The victory was a sweet revenge for the home side as they had succumbed to well-fought 2-3 loss to the Iranians in their preliminary match.
The highly-anticipated final between India and Nepal will take place on Wednesday, August 7 at 5:00pm local time and fans can expect an intense and thrilling match as both teams will pour everything in the showdown to vie for the prestigious CAVA Women’s Nations League title.
Earlier, Iran and Sri Lanka will contest the third-place playoff clash at 2pm to battle for the bronze medal.
