The Muhlenberg volleyball team split a pair of matches on the first day of a quad at Arcadia.
The Mules swept Kean in their first match and were swept by Stevenson in their second. Their 7-3 record is their best through 10 matches since 2018.
Muhlenberg fell into a quick 5-0 hole against Kean but stormed back with an efficient and potent attack. The Mules made only one attack error in the first set, recording kills on 10 of their 21 attempts and hitting at a .429 percentage to win, 25-13.
The pace slowed down slightly in the next two sets, 25-20 and 25-17 wins, but Muhlenberg finished with a .344 hitting percentage, exactly 100 points higher than its previous season best of .244.
Junior Esmae Oehler, sophomore Christina Marcin and freshman Sierra Addy all hit over .400, combining for 24 kills in just 52 attempts. Oehler led the way with 11 kills, including the 500th of her career.
Senior Christina Dalton (18 assists) and freshman Jenny Ryan (12) ran the offense, with Dalton also adding 3 aces.
The defense, meanwhile, held the Cougars to .052 hitting. Senior Alyssa Faville (pictured above) finished with 20 digs.
In the second match, the Mules took on a Stevenson team that earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament last year and lost, 25-16, 25-21, 25-20. Junior Rachel Jacobs recorded 10 kills in only 18 attempts, and Oehler added 9.
