SEATTLE — Husky Volleyball looks to start a new streak this week against some old rivals. First UCLA comes to Seattle for a Wednesday night match at Alaska Airlines Arena at 8 p.m., televised live on Big Ten Network. Then the Huskies end the weekend in Eugene with a Sunday matinee with the Ducks, streaming on B1G+.

Washington is ranked No. 24 in the AVCA coaches poll this week, and comes in at No. 20 in the first public release of the RPI. The Huskies had their 13-match win streak to start the season snapped last time out at No. 9 Wisconsin, so they will be looking to get right back in the win column against a tough UCLA squad in their only home match until Oct. 25. Wednesday’s match also marks the exact halfway point of the 2024 schedule.

Last week the Dawgs had a solid sweep at Iowa hitting .260 as a team and posting 10 blocks, as Madi Endsley led the way with 13 kills and went over the 1,000 career kills plateau. But in Madison on Sunday the Dawgs struggled in one of the toughest road environments, earning just one block in the 3-0 loss, and hitting a season-low .114. The Huskies progressively improved in the loss, hitting .370 in the third set, but still falling short, 25-21.

The Bruins are 1-3 in their first Big Ten run so far, and 7-6 overall. UCLA is coming off two straigtht hard luck five-set losses, at home against Michigan and Minnesota. The Bruins did win a set over No. 2 Nebraska but lost in four in Lincoln. UCLA’s first conference win came over Ohio State. UCLA had a big win in the season opener over Georgia Tech in five sets. The Bruins are hitting .249 and limiting opponents to just a .180 mark against them. Anna Dodson is one of the nation’s leading blockers, rejecting 1.43 per set and adding 2.15 kills per set. Leading the attack, Cheridyn Leverette is posting 3.78 kills per set, hitting .235. Audrey Pak posts 9.51…
