LOS ANGELES– The University of Washington Beach Dawgs made some noise in the playoffs during day two of the West Coast Championships. The dynamic pairing of Zoey Henson and Lauren Wilcock advanced to the quarterfinals.
Henson and Wilcock started the day undefeated by besting the No. 21 seed duo from Pepperdine in two sets. The Huskies followed it up by upsetting the No. 5 seed from Loyola Marymount University in two sets for the second straight match. The brand new dawgs bowed out against the No. 4 seed pairing from the University of Southern California.
During pool play Scarlett Dahl, Natalie Martin and Brooke Balue combined for two wins in the Silver Division against USC and Pepperdine. The Huskies doubled their win total from day 1 to day 2. Dahl also filled in with Josie Ulrich in the consolation bracket and posted a winning record.
The Huskies from the Silver and Bronze divisions will continue pool play tomorrow in mixed-up divisions against other opponents starting at 9:00 a.m.
